Artist, bird trainer, bookkeeper, daughter, sister and, most importantly, Mother to two wonderful young adults, Meg and Shaw…
I was born and raised in Salisbury, Rhodesia (Zimbabwe) and from my early twenties lived in Durban, South Africa, working as my Father’s ‘right hand woman’ at a Bird Park he created on the banks of the Umgeni River, whilst also managing a close friend’s financial advising company, and running my own paint techniquing business.
In 2009 my little family started a new chapter in our lives by emigrating to Australia. I worked as a junior accountant at an accounting firm in Brisbane and both children completed University degrees.
At the close of 2013 I felt the need for some adventure and wrote to my friend Anna Croucamp, the owner of the Parque das Aves, a world class Bird Park at Iguacu Falls in Brazil, asking if she needed any painting done… Anna replied with a hearty YES and a new wonderful chapter in my life began! Initially I was only going to paint a map at the entrance to the Park before returning to life in Australia, but it is now 2020 and I have been living and working at the Bird Park for the past few years. I am truly blessed!
